T A K E I T E A S Y B A B Y , W E C A N M A K E I T R I G H T you know my love is always on your side stella spent just about all of her time in the library, and up until very recently, she had always spent most of the time alone. no one ever joined her and most knew to leave her alone if she had a few books around her. she had her aisle. it was the aisle she went to and no one else did. no one found her. no one bothered her. it was far enough back to be left alone. every day that she came to the library, she would collect whatever books she was interested in at the time and find her way towards the back of the library where no one would bother her. and it was in that aisle, she would sit on the floor and lean back against the shelves. she would read for hours, or at least until her next class, or until it was dark outside. between classes, you could gaurantee that stella was in the library. if there were no classes, chances were she was still here. a few months ago, stella was always in the library if she wasn't in teh great hall or in class somewhere. nowadays, if she was in the library, she wasn't in her aisle alone. sometimes, she wouldn't even be in the library at all. occasionally, it was like she vanished from the school for a few hours. but there was a logical explaination for that. you see, it wasn't hard to make stella happy. a few months ago, all she needed was a good book, a little food, and maybe some water to survive. you could take everythin she owned and that was all she needed to be happy. the girl's not very high maitinance. these days, she didn't even need that book. and she could go without the food and water. because all she really needed to be happy was mason.
because mason was her mason. he was more than that, but that was just the easiest way to describe it. a few months ago, if anyone had told her that she was going to meet a boy and fall head over heels for him, she would have laughed in their face. stella had never had any form of committed relationship before, and she wasn't even really sure if what she and mason had fell under that category. it hadn't taken long for stella to figure out that she loved him, and she was pretty damn sure he felt the same. so nowadays, he was her company in the library. he knew better than anyone where to find her. the aisle she had always sat in had become their aisle. and when stella vanished from existance for a few hours, chances were she was with mason, hiding out with him somewhere secretive. somewhere that no one could find them. if there was one thing stella could change about their relationship, it would be that they had to keep it behind closed doors. she would rather him in secret than not at all, but she always wanted to be able to hold his hand in public. to be able to kiss in the halls and not worry about who saw. hell, she was just greedy when it game to mason. she wanted everything that she could when it came to him even if she knew it wasn't fair.
at that point in time, stella wasn't in her aisle and she was accompanied by mason. she was in the restricted section, completely alone. there was no one else back there, and she was pretty sure the librarian had left from the library all together. she hadn't seen her in ages. stella walked along the darker aisles of the restricted section, moving slowly, carefully. she had been back there a dozen times before and no matter what, the area always creeped her out. however, these were books she didn't get to see often and she was amazed by them. her fingers brushed softly, slowly, over each of the books bindings. it was late now, and she knew that if she didn't hurry, then the librarian would probably leave without her, which meant that stella would face the risk of wandering the halls after hours. she still had no idea just what she was looking for. her teachers often gave her restricted section privilages because they liked her, they trusted her, and they knew she would only get what she needed. however, at the moment, she hadn't gone in with a purpose. she had simply gone in to look and see what books would be interesting to study. she had been here for a while now, not just the restricted section, but the library in general. practically all afternoon. and now it was definitely getting late, it was definitely dark out, and she had come to the conclusion that she wouldn't be seeing mason tonight. but that was okay, because she would see him tomorrow, or the day after.
stella walked along the smaller, darker aisles of the restricted section, still brushing her fingers along the bindings, still silently hoping that she'd find the right book sooner or later. she had seen interesting titles, but nothing worth dusting off to read into. she dropped her fingers from the bindings and kneeled down in front of a book case, looking through to see if there was anything worth while lower down. she pulled a few from the bottom shelf and made a small pile out of them. she picked up the first one, which was about some deadly plants that could be used for various purposes and she quickly shoved that back into it's place. she didn't have any use for poisoning people with rare plants. the second book was about rare and endangered magical creatures, which she wouldn't have minded if she hadn't read it already during her third year when she took the care of magical creatures class. the next book was a potions book, which immediately sparked her interest; what with potions being her best subject. still kneeling, she let the book rest in front of her and she scanned through the pages, trying to remember if she had read it or not. it didn't look familiar, but there were little notes in the margains that looked like homemade recipes and spells. being the curious little girl that she was, she continued to flip through, wondering if it would be worth taking out. wondering if being in the library after hours was worth it.

ice ice melt your heart, baby girl let down your guard, rush rush for that touch the boy he had been six years ago had never even thought of thinking about the consequences his choices then would have had on his life. all he had done was follow his instincts, do as he was told and expected to. it had never even mattered. what he did or how he did it didn’t matter to him, as long as he was accepted by the people surrounding him. after all, he had been put in a house by a hat. wasn’t he supposed to honour that house that was now his, which had become his family when he had entered hogwarts, school of witchcraft and wizardry? it had seemed so easy back at that time, when the only thing he had to think of were those simple, childish things. at seventeen, he couldn’t ignore the questions that popped in his head anytime he had time to think, which happened rarely recently. thanks to vincent. things had changed. he wasn’t the same boy he had been before. and i am not talking about physical changes here. in fact, he wasn’t sure he had ever been who he had pretended to be. was it possible that the numerous tests his parents had made him take when he was younger actually revealed something true about who he really was, deep inside? possibly. he couldn’t remember exactly those tests and the answers he had given. but it didn’t mean that maybe he was only hiding who he truly was, his feelings. after all, wasn’t that getting more common in kids with the years? he shook his head. asking himselves questions to which he wouldn’t get any answers hadn’t ever done anything good to the boy. but, somehow, he couldn’t help it. he couldn’t help thinking somewhat philosophically from time to time, even though he hadn’t ever been interested in philosophy whatsoever. which proved that the human being he was was just as complicated as his pairs. great. him who had never wanted to be the complicated type was now forced to admit that he was, after all. but if - put the pomposity here on the if - he had never hid feelings from others and even himself, maybe he would have reached his goal of not being such a complicated human being. though, would he have ever been accepted as a slytherin if he had showed his real self. he was sure that he wouldn’t have been. and, to tell you the truth, he prefered lying to himself constantly over being rejected by his pairs. be honest for one second here. who would have prefered being rejected, really? nobody. nobody would have prefered being rejected which kind of made him feel better about himself. now, the only question that came to his mind was could he simply stop lying? could he finally be himself, the kind and loving boy he should have always been? he didn’t know. he just felt like he didn’t know anything anymore. everything was just so confused in his head, as if every single idea crashed into another anytime he tried to think things through. was it really better that he just let things go as they wanted to and just watch? then again, he wasn’t sure. if only he had been certain of one thing, other things would have probably looked so much easier. but then again, he wasn’t sure.
i give up. mason murmured under his breath as he sat down in the middle of the stairs. he felt eyes look him up and down curiously. and, anytime he looked up, he’d glare at the person so coldly that he or she almost ran away. after a few people had passed, he started thinking the stairs probably wasn’t the best place to be alone. he stood up, muttering inaudible words for anybody around him, even if you had been standing an inch away from him. he stuck his hands in his pockets, his fingers lightly carressing the tip of his wand. should he have used it to make everyone and everything around him shut up even only for one little second? normally, he probably would have. one, to piss people off. two, to feel better. but he didn’t feel like, tonight, that was the right solution. He ran up the stairs, not caring who he pushed aside or who screamed at him to look where he was going. they could all go fuck themselves for all he cared. he took a deep breath, staring down at his shoes as if they had suddenly become very interesting. once in the hallway, he leaned against a wall away from everybody’s eyes and sighed, trying to think of something that would calm him down, something that would make him smile for once. only one thing came to his mind. or well, only one person. stella, his stella. the only person around who he could be his real self, these days. his nice, caring self. the sweet mason he felt he was deep inside. only at that thought, the boy smiled slightly. and it went off. he then couldn’t stop thinking of how she’d look at him, of how she would blush anytime he complimented her. the red of her cheeks was the most beautiful color that had ever existed to him. in fact, he also thought that the blue of her eyes and the gold of her eyes were the most beautiful colors on earth. a mix of those three would probably be the perfect one. his smile widened as he closed his eyes and an image of the girl passed in front of his eyes. he had found the thing he was certain of, he loved her. but then, even that wasn’t as simple as it sounded. they had to live their love behind closed doors. only because of one stupid reason. at first, he thought that it would have destroyed their lives if anybody knew that they loved each other since she was a ravenclaw and he was a slytherin. slytherins weren’t meant to love anybody else except from themselves and people from their own house. but more time he spent with stella, more he realized that it was just stupid. completely stupid. and he regretted it. he wanted to just be with her now. he didn’t care about anything else. when he thought about her, it seemed so damn clear. but when he thought of anything else, everything got blur. maybe he should have only stopped thinking about other things..
the boy started walking again. he had to see her. he felt that that was the only way to make things so much clearer in his head. mason walked slowly, looking straight forward. nobody was around, which helped a lot with things. he didn’t want to have to explain why he was out late. of course, he wouldn’t have told the truth. but he still didn’t fell like having to come up with some random lie that would make no sense whatsoever but somehow would make sense to the person he would tell it too. he had never really understood how he managed to get out of those situations. his years of practice probably helped a lot. he had learned what was a good lie and what was a bad lie. but that wasn’t a talent he was very proud of. but, whenever he needed it, he would use it. people who played a particular instrument used it to their advantage, charming people also used it to their advantage. would it really have been wrong if he used his very own talent? hell, no. slowly, he pulled the door of the library, knowing that, if stella had decided to stay up after hours and go hang out somewhere in the school, it would certainly be here. he walked around, looking in every aisle, starting with their’s, of course. their’s because that was where they usually hid from the rest of hogwarts’s population when they wanted to be together. but she was nowhere to be seen. he frowned. was she sleeping peacefully in her dormitory? then, would he have to wait until tomorrow to see her? he wasn’t sure he could. he needed to see her, to smell the delicate perfume of her hair. a sound soon enough pulled him out of his thoughts, though, and he quickly looked up. he walked towards where he thought it had came from. quickly, he pulled out his wand and went to the restricted section. the door was open so there obviously was somebody in there. he slipped in, murmuring the spell that would light his wand under his breath. after going through a few aisles, he saw a figure kneeling in front of a shelf. he smiled slightly, hopeful. stella? he said softly as he approached the figure.

T A K E I T E A S Y B A B Y , W E C A N M A K E I T R I G H T you know my love is always on your side it probably wasn't good that stella was alone in the library without a wand, after all, she had left it in the trunk beside her bed. it probably wasn't good that she was alone in the restricted section of the library way past curfew. the librarian would flip if she knew stella was still back here. all she could do now was a hope a ghost wouldn't float by and try and get her into the trouble that she didn't need. kneeling alone on the floor of the restricted section of the library, stella hadn't heard anyone approaching, and she most certainly didn't expect anyone else to be lurking around the restricted section with her. the second she heard her name from someone else's lips, she nearly jumped out of her own skin, let out a small yelp, and fell back onto her butt. it all happened rather quickly, and to anyone else, it probably would have been rather comical. but her heart beat raced quicker for that extra half of a second and she had to cover her own mouth to keep from calling out any louder than she already had. in the darkness, she couldn't really tell who was standing above her and it didn't register for a few seconds after she had made a fool of herself. even though the darkness hid the blush on her cheeks, she knew that mason, of all people, would be the first to know that it was there. she had recognized his voice the second he spoke her name, but it hadn't registered that it was actually her mason until she could make out his figure from the dim lighting of his wand. at first, she had honestly, thought she had imagined his voice coming from someone else, in return for aimlessly wandering the library as she thought about him over and over again.
moving rather quickly, she pushed her pile of books off to the side and scrambled up to her feet. she brushed herself off slightly before shyly tucking her hair behind her ears, trying to wait for her cheeks to cool. it never took mason much to get her to blush. all he had to do was say something, anything, remotely complimenting or sweet and her cheeks would redden instantly. she knew that she blushed a lot, but mason had some kind of skill to trigger when she did or didn't. because whenever she blushed from something he said or did, butterflies filled her stomach and she couldn't think straight for a second or two. and in all honesty, that was the best feeling in the world. well, it came second to his kisses, but still. his kisses made her dizzy, made her knees go weak, made her stop breathing on occasion. and they were addicting to. whenever they started kissing, it took a while before they finally stopped. being around him, no, just thinking about him, intoxicated her until she was about as useful as a pile of mush. she never knew if that was a good or bad thing - not being able to think straight. that was irrelevant though, because it didn't matter to her if it was good or bad. she liked the feeling. she loved the feeling like she loved him. stella honestly didn't think that she would be seeing mason tonight. she had no idea how or why he had found her back in the restricted section, but she was extremely glad he had. if he had been looking for her, the first place he would have gone to was the library, and all he had to do was search around a little bit to find her. but still, she didn't know why he would come to find her so late. she was confused a little bit, but otherwise, extremely happy he was with her. for one, his presense was the only one she'd ever really need. and second, walking around alone had made her a little nervous, but she had mason.
for the past few days, stella had been making an attempt to hide all signs of panic from mason. usually, she was good about it, but sometimes, it got hard. pregnant with his child, she knew it wasn't right for her to be so happy about it, but she knew the reality was there. she was seventeen, pregnant, and occasionally, she would freak out over it. but she never let him see that. right now, she wasn't worried at all, simply because mason was with her. in her mind, if mason was with her, nothing bad could ever happen. "mason,"
she stated, half laughing, "you know better than to sneak up on me like that." she grinned, trying not to laugh so much, but failing miserably. up on her feet now, she walked over to him. mason could put her in a better mood no matter what. if she was nervous, and he was around, she wouldn't be nervous anymore. if she was scared, and he was around, she wouldn't be so scared anymore. if she was pissed off, and mason showed up, she couldn't stay mad. it was physically impossible for her to stay mad at him over anything. frankly, all he had to do was spit out a few charming words or flash his dazzling smile and she would be falling back into his arms. and whenever she was with him, she was always happy or playful or totally content. when she reached him, she wrapped her arms around his neck and lowered her voice a little bit. "is everything okay, love? it's late," she would have frowned to emphasize any worry she may have had, but part of her knew that he just wanted to be with her like she wanted to be with him. there was a tiny little smile forming on the corner of her lips because it was getting harder to hide the fact that she was extremely happy to see him. she couldn't be like this in public with him, and sometimes that was hard for her. she hated that she could throw her arms around him and kiss him in the hallways, or hold his hand, or meet him after classes. but that was okay, because she still got to see him. she never resented mason for asking to keep things private because she was just glad she had him at all. occasionally, they'd slip up, though. most recently, he'd carried her to the library after she pointed out that they were making out on the grand staircase and they were lucky no one had seen. other times, they'd dodge into random empty classes, or into the shadows. the night of the halloween ball they had been fighting, and they had been lucky no one caught their make up session. he'd dragged her to the shadows, just off of the dance floor, and really, anyone could have seen or heard, their hushed fighting. then later, anyone could have seen or heard them making up. she knew they were getting careless, and she also knew that was because mason just didn't care anymore. however, she didn't want anyone from either army trying to hurt him, her, or the baby, and the second it could be proven that they were together, all three of them were royally screwed. the general population of the school wouldn't care. she knew people would be a bit surprised, but they'd get over it quickly. but then it became more of the fact that the slytherins wouldn't take it well, and d.a. would consider her a traitor. while mason was more important to her than anything, she had an uneasy feeling that the hatchlings were a little more violent about things than the army. that scared stella. mason could promise to protect her, but she knew he wouldn't always be able to be with her. it was just a harsh reality she didn't want to think about.
